HEY YOU! YES, YOU RIGHT THERE! Stop scrolling for a minute and read this post about how you can help save the lives of this cool girl (That’s me holding a stuffed kidney!) and many other patients who need organ transplants.
That’s pretty cool, right, getting to help save someone’s life? We’ve all wanted to be heroes when we were kids and now, you really can. I mean, you’ve got two healthy kidneys and you only need one. I have zero healthy kidneys and, well I really don’t like to think about what will happen if I can’t get a new one. You have a pair, why not share?
But even if you are unable to donate or just don’t feel it’s the right thing for you personally (and I totally understand if that’s the case. I’m not trying to guilt trip you into anything), there STILL are things you can to do help those of us on transplant lists! Check it out!
- Reblog this post! So easy! The more people who are aware of the need for organ donors, the more likely someone who’s a perfect match will be found! So just hit reblog and BAM! I’m one step closer to living a longer and healthy life!
- Have your drivers’ license changed to say you are an organ donor! Goodness forbid that something should happen to you, you don’t need your organs after death. Kidneys can be taken from live donors, sure, but some patients need lungs or livers or any number of things. If you’re not using it, someone else definitely can. The waiting lists for a cadaver kidney in my area can take anywhere from 5-7 years and in some places it’s even longer!
- If you’d like to consider donating your kidney to me, please shoot me a message and I’d love to get you the needed paperwork to fill out.
Thanks all you wonderful people for taking the time to stop checking out gifs of cute cats and pictures of Tom Hiddleston to read and pass this on. You’re amazing, all of you!
